With inspiration drawn from day to evening wear, lace is no longer an after 5pm fabric. Its adornment on the most casual pieces signifies its staying power as a key item to invest in.  No matter your comfort level with lace, you are bound to find something ‘you’ to show off this trend. Whether it is a simple appliqué of lace on a shirt, a full lace dress, the chic lace backing on a classic cardigan, or even an accent feature on a pair of shoes or a handbag, this delicate fabric done right is the perfect mix of sweet and sexy.  Appearing on the floors of Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and Macys directly from the pages of Vogue, Elle and Cosmo, lace is strongly represented as more than a trend.

There is no need to invest in a new wardrobe as a few key interchangeable pieces will do the trick. In this respect, stay true to the era and don’t over-do it; a little always says a lot. Accented in torn distressed denim, gracing the runways in elegant gowns, or in touches of embellishment on handbags and accessories, lace is everywhere this season. The simple elegance and grace of a pair of lace pumps or ballet flats can update even the most simplistic wardrobe. Exquisite lace detailing is an effortless showstopper and should be paired with solid printed garments to highlight the luxurious intricacy of the material. Avoid overkill and invest in natural, earthy tones like nude, navy, and sage green as colored lace instantly cheapens the appeal. Black and white is always an encouraged pairing, too; monochromatic colors will channel timeless glamour.
